Life is Good!!

Do you ever have one of those days where, as it's happening, you stand still for a minute & think "this can't get any better"? That day, for me, happened earlier this week. It had been a BEAUTIFUL sunny, upper 70's degree day and the night was nice so we decided to have dinner outside.

While we were getting dinner ready, the kids rode their bikes/trikes on the back deck. I never get tired of watching Emily get on the trike and "ride" it around. She gets this big grin on her face and you can tell she's quite proud of herself for being such a big girl--even though she's not actually riding the trike AND she's doing it backwards!!! If you let her & give her plenty of encouragement, she could work that trike for hours. And it's almost as much fun watching her dismount. She concentrates so hard on slowly lifting her leg over the seat, all while the trike is moving away from her. Sometimes it doesn't have a happy ending...

And the best ending to that "magical" day? Having S'Mores for dessert!! We had planned to go camping a couple weeks ago, but the weather decided to not cooperate so we "had" to use up the supplies... Since the grill was still warm from dinner we decided tonight is as good as any!! This was Emily's first S'More and I THINK she liked it. What d'you think?
